Last year I found out that my mom smoked cigarettes the last 3 months she was pregnant with me. I was born with chronic asthma. I’m 20 now and it’s just as bad as it was when I was little. I asked my mom if she thought her smoking has anything to do with my respiratory problems and she thinks it doesn’t. I found this to be incredibly infuriating, as I can’t even laugh hard without triggering my asthma. Any thoughts on this?

Studies would suggest she caused it, but it is not completely conclusive.
